Elevation Measurements

I measured this data indoors over a period of a few hours. The GPS sent out a reading every second while it had a 3D fix. I have deleted the points when it did not have enough satellites in view to generate an elevation. This was indoors and the unit lost lock on satellites frequently, so this may be close to a "worst-case" signal situation. Averaged over two hours worth of data, the altitude readout of 70 feet is close to the actual elevation of 78 feet (from USGS topo map).  However, the error at any given time can be quite large.  GPS units with a built-in barometric altimeter can report more consistently accurate measurements.
